| ‘OUTPUT
gallery works exclusively with creatives from or based in Merseyside’ -
a very conscious decision that aims to counter the longstanding lack of
opportunities for local artists. We’re committed to the objective to
offer direct access to exhibitions and artistic development, so we hope
to make OUTPUT OPEN an annual event. In the first version of the show, we are bringing together 12 artists who represent a cross-section of styles and intentions in their art-making. Exhibiting artists include Lucy Archer, Marc Cowpland, Bob Coyne, Victoria Hyam, Omar Javed, Tony Jaycott, Talia Laing, John Mcclelland, Kiara Mohamed, Danny Ryder, and finally a collaboration between Bibi Agu and Lucy Jane Smith. Some are first time exhibitors, others are recent graduates of art schools in the North West; work is image-based, performative, video, and text. This exhibition is curated by Jon Edgley, who is also acting curator of Gwendolyn Gallery - a nomadic Wendy house gallery space. |
